It was a few days before when I loved the song “Reach for the Sky” by Mai Kuraki. In that peaceful dusk, little sun light came down from the grey sky. Since the first spring wind, now the soft breeze was kissing the city.

A cool autumn afternoon, drinking a glass of cider and feeling the light breeze, your heart can become bright. Of the feeling from cider, though it’s a little sour and ice-cold, it did make your heart filled up with happiness.

Spring came, and I saw the buds of trees on my way back. “Ah! The buds of trees!” just I excited I looked up the sky without intention. I saw the clearing up cast blue sky then, wonderful.

Again on my way back, I looked up the sky too. That’s a clear sunny sky then, though the sun was hidden in a cloud. Some beams emitting out straight. Clouds were half golden and half grey-blue, other clouds were also stained by the sunlight. It looked very wonderful. In that light blue sky, the orange sunshine made the colored clouds whole of sky, the soft breeze gave me a good mood. With them, then was not very bright sunny, but I felt pretty joyful.
I thought out “Reach for the Sky” at once. It was the best song to fit the atmosphere.
Can everyone all think so? Go deeply into the melody, feel the lyrics with the real heart. Surely that is an unadorned lyrics no any gorgeous words, but it came from the real heart, so we who living in every unadorned day, certainly can get our hearts and the song into the one, don’t we?

倉木麻衣さんの歌といえば、風格は似ているのが多いが、その中、ひとつ特別な雰囲気があります。どう言えばいいのかな…涼しい秋の午後、アイスりんごジュースを一杯飲めて、緩やかな風を向けて、そして、心も明るくなります…という気分かな。酸っぱくて冷たいけど、そのさっぱり感じこそ、心が幸せの温かさで満ちられるように気がすることです。

リズムは穏やか、旋律は中速、明るく感じ、ドラムなどの打楽器もよく表現され。この点で、ちょうど私の好きなスタイルなんです。

春が来ました、真昼の帰り道で、私は木の芽を見えました。「あっ、木の芽だ！」と感心したとき、ふと見上げて、晴れかけた広がって青かった大空を見えました。「素晴らしいわ～！」と大感動しました。
でもやっぱりもっともっと素晴らしいことは、今日の夕方。
まだその帰り道で。空をもう一度見上げました。そこはもうすっかり晴れて、太陽はひとつ大きな雲に隠れてきても、いくつの光の束はそこからまっすぐ射し出した。その雲、半分は金色半分は青く灰色で、周りの雲たちもあちこち太陽に染まれてとても雄大な感じになりました。その浅き青く大空に、オレンジの太陽の光が作った彩った満天の雲、まだ柔らかな春風がいい気持ちをそばにつれてあげて。それと一緒、晴れ晴れではなくても、とてもとても嬉しかったです。
あの時、すぐに「Reach for the Sky」を思い出して歌いだした。気分はぴたっりして絶好なんでした。
そんな光景、誰でもそう思うでしょう？本気に旋律へ行き込んで歌詞を感じて。それが普通で自然な歌詞で華やかではないが、同じ普通な自然で毎日を過ごす私たちは、きっと歌と重ねられないことはありませんか？
